Part of Philadelphia Dance Projects Presents 2010, a Master Class with Red Thread project artists Lisa KrausEva Karczag, and Vicky Shick will be offered at the Performance Garage on Wednesday, March 10 beginning at 6 p.m. Taking time to sense and reflect on breathing, to embody weight and lightness, we will awaken our awareness and lay the foundations for complex moving. By consciously inviting spaciousness inside our bodies, we can taste the integrated openness and buoyant suppleness that generates easeful articulate dancing. From this ground we’ll explore improvisation structures and learn movement material from Red Thread. The class is geared toward experienced dance artists. Registration fee is $15. For advance registration, please call (215) 546-2552.

“Her control is superb, virtuosic really; she dances as if she had no bones, and her voluptuousness reminds us that dancing can be a luxurious experience.” – Sally Sommer, Dance MagazineEva Karczag

“Her movement is incredibly fluid, with water’s violence as well as its purling smoothness, placidity, and transparency. It’s luxuriant, comfortable in time, utterly sensual, economical, and quite without strain.” – Burt Supree, The Village VoiceVicky Shick

… [Shick] is attentive to small details and nuances of movement. Shick herself slips and nudges her way into dancing – silky and deliberate. She often has a grave, faraway look on her face, as if she were remembering old stories or testing out new ones.” – Deborah Jowitt, The Village Voice
